The
effort to make better use of the Bethany United Church building
is not about “Come rent our hall.”
Instead,
the Bethany Community Hub committee is hoping to make the building
a place where residents can come together for a variety of activities.
The church
is the only accessible community space in town with upper and
lower halls available. The basement features a large kitchen
and seats about 80 people.
The Bethany
Community Hub is putting out the call for people with ideas and
who could volunteer to help bring events to the building —
anything from social groups to seniors programs, games nights
and even a possible daycare.
Please join
the Bethany Community Hub, on Saturday May 13th ,10 am to 3 pm
for our Open House event. We are showcasing local artisans, craftspeople
and vendors. Planning a gathering in the near future? Our handicap
accessible building has some great spaces available for rent.
There will be a dozen local vendors showcasing their products
such as, baking, honey, and handcrafted goods, knitting, quilting
etc.
There will be hot chili and baked goodies available for lunch
for purchase.
